The World Environment Day is celebrated by world community on June 5th. This celebration is intended to alert the population to the existing environmental problems, encourage the positive action for the environment. It brings together people from all over the world, giving them a sense of responsibility towards future generations for the use of natural resources. This year, WED will be celebrated under the slogan of ‘Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care’ to promote resource efficiency and sustainable consumption and production.

Consuming with care means living within planetary boundaries to ensure a healthy future where our dreams can be realized. It is about knowing that rising rates of natural resource use and the environmental impacts that occur are not a necessary by-product of economic growth.

Sumy State University takes responsibility for the lives of present and future generations. Therefore, we join the celebration of the World Environment Day.
